 SODAŞ SODYUM SANAYİİ A.Ş. was incorporated in Izmir with completely national capital and effort, through the Ministry of Commerce approval dated 11.03.1974 and 1st Commercial Court of First Instance decision dated 15.03.1974 under file no 974-52, and decision no 974-31, and was registered with Izmir Trade Registry on 16.03.1974.

 1975 Founded for the purposes of Lake Mining and Chemical production, SODAŞ started the production of Crude Crystal Sodium Sulphate and Light-Grade Sodium Sulphate at its Lake operations in 1975.
In the same year, SODAŞ decided to go public, and by reaching 320 shareholders consisting mainly of locals, it has achieved a remarkable success that would set an example for companies that have just initiated their public offering efforts in Turkey.1975

In 1976, SODAŞ started investing in its Pulverized Anhydrous Sodium Sulphate Production Facility with a capacity of 15,000 tons/year, and the facility was commissioned in 1977. This facility proved to be a huge step towards industrialization for SODAŞ.


Due to increasing customer demands, SODAŞ decided to boost its production capacity, and to that end, set to establish its Triple Effect Sodium Sulphate Facility with a yearly capacity of 25,000 tons in 1983, and the facility was commissioned in 1984 by making the necessary investments.

The use of Sodium Sulphate in the detergent sector necessitated an investment in the sector, and thus, Atomized Powder Detergent and Liquid Detergent Facility was built with a capacity of 36,000 Tons/Year. The facility commissioned in 1990 and proved to be a significant investment for the country's economy and local employment.


In 1993, a 25 Ton/Day Sulfonation Facility was established with the aim to produce Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid (LABSA), the main ingredient of detergent production, for the own use of SODAŞ.
